A person admitted to the Tissamaharama hospital over a shooting incident in Ellagala area has been transferred to the Karapitiya hospital.
Three persons entered a house in Ellagala, at around 10.30 pm last night (03), where one suspect had shot a tractor driver who worked under the house owner. The suspects have also assaulted another driver present at the house and the house owner’s wife as well.
Meanwhile, the house owner had hidden from the perpetrators who later shot at him. However, the shot missed him as he brawled with the shooter, before the suspects fled the house.
The driver who was shot in the incident was critically injured and is currently receiving treatment at the Karapitiya hospital.
According to the police, this shooting has been a result of a personal disagreement which occurred on 19th April. There is an ongoing court case regarding the conflict and is to be taken for hearing tomorrow (05), further stated the Police.
No suspect has been arrested over the shooting incident and Tissamaharama police is conducting investigation on the matter.
