Western province leads in contribution to GDP

Department of Census and Statistics states that the Western Province is still the leading contributor to country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
In relation to the reports of years 2016-2017 Western Province has provided 37.2% and 37.8% of the GDP respectively.
In year 2017, Central Province has contributed to 10.7% of the GDP while the North Western Province provided 10.6%, according to Census and Statistics Department.
Meanwhile, the lowest contribution to the country’s GDP comes from the Eastern, North Central and Northern Provinces.
