No final decision has been reached regarding the allocation of seats at the parliament, according to Deputy Secretary-General of the Parliament Neil Iddawela.
Although several ministers were sworn in following the appointment of Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Minister, the relevant gazette has not been received by the parliament as of yet, he stated.
He pointed out allocation of seats at the parliament cannot be finalized as there is a chance that either new Cabinet Ministers are sworn in or more MPs switching parties.
However, on 4th November President Maithripala Sirisena issued a gazette to convene the parliament at 10 am on the 14th November.
Under the condition, seat allocation will have to be done on the 13th November, stated Iddawela.
Meanwhile, a no-confidence motion against the Speaker is needed to remove him from the post, he further stated.
The relevant proposal can be debated after 5 days after submitting it to the Order Paper, he added.
