Two suspects have been arrested for the possession of 710 grams of heroin at Batakeththara in Piliyandala.
The heroin has been discovered at around 11.45 pm last night (04) when searching a three-wheeler at Karadiyana Junction in Dampe based on a tip-off received by the officers of the Mount Lavinia Police Motorcycle Unit.
Upon further questioning, the officials had recovered more heroin from a house in Batakattara area rented by the suspect.
The arrested suspects are 28 and 24-year-olds from Ratmalana and Madapatha. Along with the suspects, the three-wheel too has been taken under the custody of the police.
The suspects will be presented before the Kesbewa Magistrate’s Court today (05). Piliyandala Police are conducting further investigations on the matter.
