
409 live artillery shells were seized yesterday (03) at a private factory manufacturing steel wires at Ekala, Ja-Ela, which was first raided the day before.
Two of the employees were also taken into custody, the police said.
However, the General Manager of the factory stated that the relevant materials were purchased under a proper tender procedure.
According to reports, 584 empty artillery shells were also uncovered from the factory.
During the initial raid on May 2nd, the police found over 100 empty shells of bullets used for T-56 assault rifles at the location.
