
Ten Jeeps have officially been handed over to the Police Department by the Chinese Government at the Presidential Secretariat, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.
Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Mr. Chang Xueyuan has presented the relevant documents and keys to the President Maithripala Sirisena last evening (09).
After the President assumed control of the police department, he has made many changes in that department, says the PMD. Accordingly, as per the request made by President Sirisena, the Chinese Government has provided these 10 jeeps for the use of Police stations, the PMD added.
Secretary to the President Udaya R. Seneviratne and Acting IGP C.D. Wickramaratne and several others were also present on this occasion.
