
Acting Attorney General Dappula de Livera has sworn in as Sri Lanka’s new Attorney General a short while ago, the President’s Media Division stated.
Furthermore, Mr. H.M. Gamini Senevirathne has been appointed as New Secretary to the Ministry of Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Councils & Local Government, while Ms. K.J. Ashoka Alawaththa has been appointed as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Primary Industries and Social Empowerment.
They received their Letters of appointment from the President today.
On May 7th, the Constitutional Council, chaired by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, unanimously approved the name of Acting Attorney General Dappula de Livera as the new Attorney General.
President’s Counsel Dappula de Livera was appointed the Acting Attorney General on April 29th.
Prior to being appointed as the Acting Attorney General, he served as the Solicitor General.
