Two arrested with 79.3 kg of Kerala cannabis

A team of Naval personnel apprehended two persons with 79.3kg of Kerala cannabis during a routine patrol carried out in northern seas today (11), Sri Lanka Navy said.

 

Accordingly, a team of Naval personnel attached to the Northern Naval Command apprehended these persons with the haul of cannabis during a patrol carried out in the seas off Veththalakarni. 

 

It is suspected that the smugglers had tried to transfer this haul of KG to Sri Lanka by a dinghy.

 

The suspects, haul of cannabis and the dinghy is due to be handed over to the Sri Lanka Police, the SLN media unit said.
