Police curfew has been imposed on the entire North Western province with immediate effect until further notice, Police Media Spokesperson.
Earlier today (13) police curfew was imposed on Rasnayakapura, Kobeigane, Kuliyapitiya, Bingiriya, Dummalasuriya, and Hettipola police divisions.
The curfew affecting Rasnayakapura and Kobeigane was to be lifted at 4 am tomorrow morning (14) while the curfew on the rest of the areas was set to be lifted at 6 am.
However, the police curfew has been implemented in the whole province until further notice.
Police curfew was imposed last night (12) at Kuliyapitiya, Bingiriya, and Dummalasuriya areas owing to a tense situation in the area. The curfew was lifted at 6 am this morning. Police curfew was imposed within Chilaw city limits in order to control a tense situation. The curfew originally set to be lifted at 6 am today was lifted at 4 am.
