The Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court has ordered to exhume the head of the Zion Church suicide bomber from the Kalliyankadu Cemetery premises and bury it at another place.

Magistrate A.C. Rizwan had delivered the order to the District Secretary of Batticaloa, Ada Derana reporter said.

The bomber’s head was buried at the Kalliyankadu Cemetery on the 26th of August under the orders of Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court and a massive protest was then conducted against the relevant decision.

Submitting a motion, the Batticaloa District Secretary had informed the court of the current situation of the area.

Considering the submission, the magistrate ordered to exhume the bomber’s head before September 2nd and to place it at the hospital mortuary for the time being.

Meanwhile, Parliamentarian S. Viyalanderan and four others have been ordered to present themselves before the Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court again on the 4th of October.

Batticaloa Magistrate had delivered the order when Viyalanderan, Batticaloa Pradeshiya Sabha member Selvi Manoharan and three others had appeared before the court today (30).

They were ordered to appear before the court as the recent protest organized by Viyalanderan-led group against the burial of the Zion Church suicide bomber’s head at a cemetery in Batticaloa, had allegedly obstructed the public.

The magistrate has further ordered the group to record a statement with the police over the incident.
