Three drown while fishing in Batticaloa

Three persons have reportedly drowned after their boat capsized while fishing in a tank in Kattankudy, Batticaloa.
Police said 5 youths had gone fishing in a newly built agrarian tank in Batticaloa using a small boat at around 12 noon today (25).
However, the boat had capsized with three of the youth drowning while the other two had managed to swim to safety.
Two of the youths had been rescued by the residents in the area.
The bodies of the other 3 youths were recovered by navy divers this evening.
The deceased have been identified as Suresh Kumar Sudarshan (18), Nagulendran Divaharan (19) and Selvan Jagusan (20), who are all residents of Arayampathy.
Kattankudy Police have launched investigations into the incident.
