Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Sabaragamuwa province and Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 pm, stated the Department of Meteorology.
Light showers may occur in the Eastern and Uva provinces and in Hambanthota and Mullaitivu districts.
Mainly dry weather will prevail elsewhere.
Wind speed can increase up to (40-50) kmph at times in Northern and North-Central provinces and in Hambanthota and Monaragala districts.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the morning.
SEA AREAS
Showers may occur at few places in the sea areas extending from Mullaitivu to Hambanthota via Trincomalee and Batticaloa. Mainly fair weather will prevail over the other sea areas around the island.
Winds will be North-easterly and speed will be (30-40) kmph in the sea areas around the island. Wind speed can increase up to (50-55) kmph at times in the sea areas extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambanthota and the sea areas extending from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam.
The sea areas extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambanthota and the sea areas extending from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam can be rough at times.
