Ten arrested over excavating for artifacts

Ten individuals who were excavating for the purpose of finding artifacts have been arrested in Weeragula, yesterday (09).
The raid had been carried out at around 2 pm yesterday, based on the tip-off received at the Kalagedihena area by the Weeragula Police Officers.
Reportedly, equipment used for digging artifacts was also seized along with the suspects.
The arrested suspects, aged 34- 57 years, are residents of Weeragula, Colombo, Mangalathiriya, Mirigama, Kalagedihena, and Pamunugama areas.
Arrested suspects will be produced before the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court today (10).
Further investigations are carried out by the Weeragula Police.
