
Showery and windy conditions are expected to enhance to some extent in next few days, the Department of Meteorology says.
Few showers will occur in the Eastern, Central and Uva provinces and in Hambantota, Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 pm.
Wind speed can increase up to (40-50) kmph at times in Northern, Eastern, North-Central and North-western provinces and in Monaragala and Hambantota districts.
Sea areas:
Showers may occur at several places in the sea areas extending from Mullaitivu to Hambantota via Trincomalee and Batticaloa. Mainly fair weather will prevail over the other sea areas around the island.
Winds will be North-easterly and speed will be (30-40) kmph in the sea areas around the island. Wind speed can increase up to 55 kmph at times in the sea areas extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota and the sea areas extending from Mannar to Kalutara via Puttalam and Colombo.
The sea areas extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota and the sea areas extending from Mannar to Kalutara via Puttalam and Colombo can be rough at times.
