Former Sri Lanka skipper  Kumar Sangakkara scored his 34th Test century while playing the second Test against Bangladesh in Chittagong on Tuesday.

Veterans Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene shared an unbroken 147-run partnership to lead Sri Lanka’s recovery after a shaky start in the morning of the first day.

The tourists, who won the first Test by an innings and 248 runs in Dhaka last week, bounced back from 49-2 to 196-2 at tea on the opening day at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium.

Left-handed Sangakkara followed his 75 in the first Test with an unbeaten hundred that included 12 boundaries and two sixes.
