PNB to detain, interrogate 5 arrested with narcotics in Galle

Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court has ordered the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) to interrogate the five suspects arrested yesterday (29) with narcotics under detention orders.

 

The PNB, in a combined effort with the Sri Lanka Navy, arrested five individuals including a female along with 74 kg 666 g of heroin and 65 kg 714 g of Ice found in their possession.

 

Police Headquarters stated that the suspects were arrested on charges of importing, smuggling and possession of narcotics.

 

The arrested suspects are residents of Dickwella, Beliatta, Piliyandala, Tangalle and Kudawella areas.

 

The arrestees were produced before the court today (01), where they were ordered to be detained for interrogation for a period of seven days.
