
Flights between Sri Lanka and Kuwait have been temporarily suspended due to a decision taken by the government of Kuwait, the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau, said.
The Directorate General of Kuwaiti Civil Aviation has issued a statement announcing that flights to and from Kuwait for seven countries - India, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt - will be halted temporarily owing to COVID-19 concerns.
The suspension will be in effect from yesterday (06) for a time period of a week.
Kuwait also banned entry of anyone who has been in the aforesaid seven countries during the last two weeks.
However, Kuwaitis returning from these seven countries will be allowed entry but will have to submit to quarantine procedures, the civil aviation directorate has stated further.
