Six suspects have surrendered to the police in connection with the brawl inside a restaurant in Periyamulla in Negombo which led to the murder of one of its employees.
Another suspect, aged 18 years, was arrested over the incident earlier today (10). It was revealed that he is a resident of the same area.
One person died while several others were wounded and hospitalized following a clash at an restaurant in Periyamulla area at around 9.30 p.m. last night (09).
According to reports, the clash broke out after the owner of the shop and employees had objected to a group of around individuals who had attempted to consume alcohol within its premises.
Four persons including the owner of the restaurant, who sustained critical injuries, were admitted to the Negombo Hospital following the incident.
The deceased was identified as a 36-year-old from Ganewelpola, Kekirawa.
Negombo Police is further probing the incident.
