Lightning has caused power interruptions in several areas in the country, says the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
Accordingly, power supply in Galle, Matara, Ukuwela, Hambantota, Kurunegala, Nuwara Eliya and in parts of Kandy have been interrupted.
Measures are being taken to restore the power supply urgently, the CEB said.
