As per the instructions of local health authorities, passengers from Qatar, Bahrain and Canada will not be permitted to land in Sri Lanka, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced.
This measure will be put in place starting from midnight today (17), the chairman of the CAA said further.
Accordingly, passengers of Qatari, Canadian or Bahraini nationalities or any passenger who has a travel history to these three countries within the last 14 days will not be allowed to land in the island for a period of two weeks.
Earlier this week, Sri Lanka imposed a travel ban for passengers arriving in the island from three coronavirus-hit countries - Iran, Italy & S. Korea, with effect from March 14. It was later extended to a total of 11 countries.
Accordingly, all travels beginning from France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden and Austria were banned for two weeks with effect from March 15.
