Over 300 curfew violators have been arrested island-wide so far, according to the Police Media Spokesperson.
Most of the violators have been arrested over idling on the roads, stated the Police.
Further, some were arrested on the charges of traveling on the road in vehicles, trading, groups consuming alcohol at sports grounds, disorderly conduct under the influence of alcohol as well.
Meanwhile, the police curfew imposed on the whole country is still in effect.
The curfew period for districts of Colombo, Gampaha, and Puttalam has been extended till 6.00 am on Tuesday (24) and will be re-imposed by 2 pm the same day.
Curfew in other districts will be lifted at 6.00 am on Monday (23) as previously scheduled and will come to effect again at 2.00 pm on the same day. This will be effective until 6.00 am on Tuesday (24).
Re-imposing curfew in all districts is to be notified later.
