Southern Province Baseball Association established

Anura Batuwatta has been elected as the President of the Southern Province Baseball Association which was established on May 10, in a gathering attended by all schools and clubs in the province which play baseball.
The association was established “with the vision of spreading and promoting the game of baseball all throughout the Southern Province including its rural areas, uplifting the standards of the game of baseball in the province and to generate more national and international level baseball players,” a statement said.
Another objective of the Southern Province Baseball Association is to act as a link between the main Baseball Federation in Colombo and the schools and clubs in the Southern Province, it said.
