
A Sri Lanka Navy personnel who had contracted the coronavirus has completely recovered from the virus.
He has been discharged from the infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) in Angoda.
He is the first Navy personnel to recover from the COVID-19 virus, stated Sri Lanka Navy.
The recovered sailor had been on leave from April 22 and admitted to the Ratnapura Hospital on April 25.
He was identified to have contracted COVID-19 following a PCR test and was transferred to the IDH for treatment.
It was subsequently determined that the virus was longer in his body, through 3 PCR test carried out on him.
Thereby, he was discharged from the hospital yesterday (03).
However, the recovered sailor is subjected to another fortnight of quarantine by the Sri Lanka Navy on health directives.
His family members too are currently undergoing the quarantine process at the Boossa quarantine center.
