Rs. 5,000 allowance for May paid from today

The government has decided to provide the Rs. 5,000 allowance, for people affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, for the month of May as well.
“I gave instructions to pay Rs. 5,000 allowance for the month of May, which was paid for the COVID-19 affected groups,” President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said.
In a Facebook post, he stated that the payment of the allowance starts today (04) and will be paid before the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day.
In addition, Government pension payments for the month of May will also commence today (04) and be completed before the Vesak Poya Day.
