
Five new patients are confirmed to have contracted COVID-19, raising the number of cases reported in the country.
Nine new cases have been reported so far today, according to the Health Ministry.
This includes 04 navy personnel while the rest are from Kolonnawa, Colombo 15, Rajagiriya and Kandakadu quarantine center.
With the new cases, the tally of the total number of coronavirus cases in Sri Lanka stands at 760.
Currently, 549 patients continue to be under medical care at selected hospitals across the island.
The recovery count reached 197 earlier today (05) as three patients were discharged from the hospital after regaining health.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka confirmed its 9th death due to COVID-19 as a 52-year-old female succumbed to the virus today. The deceased is a resident of Modara, Colombo, and had been receiving medical treatments in the Incentive Care Unit of IDH Hospital.
986 PCR tests had been carried out within yesterday.
