Special flight returns with 186 Sri Lankans from Singapore

A group of Sri Lankans including students who were stranded in Singapore due to the outbreak of COVID-19 has been brought back to the island this evening (06).

 

A special flight (UL303) chartered by the national carrier, SriLankan Airlines, returned to the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at around 4.45 pm, with 186 Sri Lankans.

 

The flight had departed for Singapore at 7.0 am this morning.

 

It was reported that 10 Singaporean nationals who were stranded in Sri Lanka due to the virus outbreak were taken back to their home country in this special flight.

 

Air Force personnel have decontaminated the repatriated group of Sri Lankans and their luggage before moving them to quarantine centres.
