630 curfew violators arrested within 24 hours

Around 630 persons were arrested for violating the curfew within the 24 hours ending from 6.00 a.m. this morning (07), the Police Spokesman’s Office said.
In addition to this, 209 vehicles were also taken into custody during this period.
This brings the total number of arrests made so far for curfew violations since March 20 to a staggering 47,866 persons while a total of 12,448 vehicles have also been taken into custody.
The curfew which is presently in force island-wide will continue until 5.00 a.m. on Monday (May 11).
