COVID-19 tally reaches 949 with 12 new cases

Twelve more persons have confirmed to have contracted the COVID-19 virus, stated the Ministry of Health.

 

All 12 cases are detected among Sri Lanka Navy personnel, confirmed the Ministry.

 

With the new cases, the total count of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 949.

 

In the meantime, coronavirus recoveries in the country moved up to 520 earlier today as 43 patients returned to health.

 

The Epidemiology Unit says that 420 active cases are currently under medical care at selected hospitals across the country.

 

The country’s death toll from COVID-19 stands at 09.
