
The count of coronavirus cases identified in Sri Lanka has now moved past the 1,200 mark with two new cases being reported a short while ago.
Accordingly, a total of 19 new COVID-19 cases have been reported today (26). Earlier today, 17 coronavirus patients were identified among persons who are undergoing quarantine upon return from Kuwait.
The two new cases move the total count of positive cases in the country to 1,201.
Currently, 479 active cases are under medical care at selected hospitals across the island, as the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry.
With 17 patients being discharged upon recovery earlier today (26), the count of recoveries recorded in the country is at 712.
Sri Lanka reported its 10th death last evening (25) as a 51-year-old woman who arrived in the country from Kuwait succumbed to the virus. She had been suffering from heart conditions prior to the death, stated the Ministry of Health.
