268 Sri Lankans in Qatar return to the island

A flight chartered by the national carrier has repatriated a group of Sri Lankans who were stranded in Qatar due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Returning from Doha with 268 locals aboard, the SriLankan Airlines flight (UL 218) has touched down at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at around 5.45 am this morning (27).
Ada Derana correspondent said 4 children were among this repatriated group of Sri Lankans.
Upon arrival, the returnees and their luggage were subjected to decontamination process. The medical unit and airport security have tested their temperatures and checked for any symptoms of the novel coronavirus.
They were subsequently transported to quarantine centres in buses deployed by Sri Lanka Army.
