Fourteen new Covid-19 cases; total moves to 1,849

Fourteen new cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed today increasing the total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the country to 1,849.

 

The new positive cases include 10 naval personnel from the Iyakachchi (07) and Damminna (03) quarantine centre.

 

Four persons who had returned from Chennai recently and are quarantine at Katukeliyawa have also tested positive today.

 

This brings the total number of Covid-19 infected patients currently under medical care to 848.

 

Meanwhile the number of recoveries in Sri Lanka has risen to 990.

 

The death toll due to the virus in the country stands at 11.
