Only two Covid-19 infections confirmed yesterday

Only two positive cases of Covid-19 were reported on Tuesday (09), says the Department of Government Information.

 

One of them is a naval person under quarantine and the other one is a returnee from Qatar at the Ampara quarantine centre.

 

With the addition of these new cases, the total number of coronavirus cases reported in Sri Lanka moved to 1,859.

 

As per a tally of the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry, 791 active cases are currently under medical care at selected hospitals in the country.

 

Meanwhile, with 67 COVID-19 patients being discharged upon recovery, the count of recoveries recorded from Sri Lanka reached 1,057.

 

Sri Lanka has witnessed 11 deaths from the novel coronavirus so far.
