‘ITUKAMA’ COVID-19 Fund balance surpasses Rs 1,374 million

With corporate and individual donations and direct deposits, the balance of ‘ITUKAMA’ COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund balance has now surpassed Rs. 1,374 million, stated President’s Media Division.

 

The Department of Education Central Province donated over Rs 14 million to the Fund while the Central Provincial Education service Thrift & Credit Co-operative society (Ltd) donated Rs 200,000, and the Chairman of the Norwood Pradeshiya Sabha, K. K. Ravi donated Rs 50,000. The cheques for these sums were handed over to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa by Governor of the Central Province, Lalith U. Gamage at the Presidential Secretariat, yesterday (09).

 

Governor of Uva Province and Provincial Public Officers (Rs. 11.6 million), the Southern Provincial Public officers (Rs 20.2 million), Northern Provincial Public officers (Rs 3 million), Eastern Provincial Public officers and NGOs (Rs 40 million), and the Western Provincial Public officers (Rs. 20 million) made donations to the Fund.

 

In addition, Dial Textile Industries (Pvt) Ltd (Rs. 3 million), Mr. Neil Umagiliya (Rs 1 million), and Lion Vision for Sight Hospital Trust (Rs 10 million) made donations to the fund and the relevant cheques were handed over to the President.

 

Sri Lanka-Australia-New Zealand Business Council (The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce) donated Rs. 500,000 to the Fund while Mr. Laksiri Mendis, AAL donated Rs. 500,000 to the Fund.

 

Accordingly, the Fund’s balance has now reached Rs. 1,374,575,492.89, stated the PMD.

 

Local, as well as foreign donors, have made their contributions to the Fund. Deposits can be made through cheques, telegraphic transfers, via www.itukama.lk, or by dialing #207#.
