EC requested for permission to recruit foreign election monitors

Elections monitoring organizations have decided to look into the use of foreign monitors for upcoming parliamentary elections.
Executive Director of People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) Rohana Hettiarachchi stated that they have made requests to the Elections Commission on the matter.
Foreign observers will be recruited to the country only if they receive the necessary permission, said Hettiarachchi.
General Election 2020 is scheduled to be held on the 05th of August this year.
