
The government has decided to release all vehicles taken into custody during the curfew period to their owners.
Sri Lanka Police seized vehicles of violators of the curfew set by the government imposed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Nearly 19,000 vehicles were seized over curfew violations since March 20 when the curfew was first imposed until the lift of the curfew.
Acting Inspector General (IGP) C. D. Wickremaratne has been directed to take necessary steps in this regard.
