COVID-19 cases confirmed in Sri Lanka mount to 1,905

Four more individuals have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus last night (15), stated the Ministry of Health.

 

Thereby, the total count of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 1,905.

 

Accordingly, a total of 16 virus-positive cases were confirmed yesterday, the Department of Government Information said.

 

These cases comprise 03 naval personnel at Mullaitivu and Iyakachchi quarantine centres, 05 returnees from Kuwait at the Trincomalee quarantine centre, 01 returnees from Bangladesh at the Diyatalawa quarantine centre and 06 arrivals from the Maldives.

 

In the meantime, the number of recoveries in Sri Lanka now stands at 1,342.

 

The Epidemiology Unit’s tally reads that 552 active cases are currently under medical care.

 

Sri Lanka has confirmed 11 deaths due to the COVID-19.
