Five more navy personnel test positive for coronavirus

Five more individuals have contracted the novel coronavirus, the Ministry of Health confirmed a short while ago.

 

The 05 latest cases have been detected among the Sri Lanka Navy personnel, stated the Ministry.

 

With the new cases, a total of 08 cases have been reported within the day. Previously today (16), 03 returnees from Iran also tested positive for the COVID-19 infection.

 

Sri Lanka has reported 1,913 coronavirus cases so far.

 

Among them, 531 active cases are currently under medical care at selected hospitals, as per the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry.

 

The count of recoveries reported in the country stands at 1,371.

 

Sri Lanka has witnessed 11 deaths from the virus so far.
