Six more test positive for COVID-19; tally at 1,921

Six more COVID-19 individuals have tested COVID-19 positive, the Ministry of Health confirmed.

 

Five among the new cases have been detected among the recent arrivals from Chennai, India while one patient is a Sri Lanka Navy personnel.

 

Accordingly, a total of 1,921 cases of the novel coronavirus infection have been reported from Sri Lanka.

 

Currently, 513 active cases are receiving treatment under medical care at selected hospitals, according to the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry.

 

With 26 patients being discharged today (17), the number of recoveries in the country now stands at 1,397.

 

Sri Lanka has witnessed 11 deaths from the virus so far.
