
Eight more naval personnel who had contracted the COVID-19 have recovered completely from the disease, says Sri Lanka Navy.
Four among the recovered Navymen had been receiving treatment at the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) in Angoda, while the other 04 had been at the Navy General Hospital in Colombo.
Thereby, a total of 748 coronavirus-positive navy men have returned to health so far.
These discharged navy men will be kept under quarantine for another 14 days in compliance with the healthcare regulations.
The number of coronavirus cases reported in Sri Lanka currently stands at 1,924 cases.
Currently, 516 active cases are under medical care at selected hospitals across the island, as per the tally of the Epidemiology Unit.
Meanwhile, 1,397 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospital upon complete recovery from the disease.
Sri Lanka has recorded 11 fatalities from the virus, to date.
