Easter attacks investigations near conclusion – Police Spokesman

Investigations pertaining to the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks are expected to be concluded soon, stated the Police Media Spokesperson SP Jaliya Senaratne.
Holding a press conference yesterday (17), SP Senaratne said that 237 suspects have been arrested in connection with the terror attack so far. Several more suspects are due to be arrested soon, he added.
Meanwhile, investigations have revealed that the revenue of the controversial copper factory in Wellampitya had been directly invested in the terror activities of Zahran Hashim – the alleged ringleader behind the attacks- and his team.
It has also been revealed that the team and its activities had also been heavily funded by banned foreign organizations, said SP Senaratne.
