Three suspects who were arrested over the stabbing attack on the father of notorious drug kingpin ‘Kanjipani Imran’ have been remanded until July 02.
They were produced before the Aluthkade Magistrate’s Court.
The police meanwhile received permission to detain and interrogate another suspect, arrested over the said incident, for 48 hours.
On Wednesday evening (17), three individuals, who arrived in a three-wheeler, had attacked the victim using sharp weapons.
The 65-year-old, who sustained several cut wounds, was later admitted to the Emergency Treatment Unit (ETU) of the Colombo National Hospital for treatment.
Police took a total of five suspects including a 19-year-old into custody in connection with the stabbing attack on Kanjipani Imran’s father.
