EC to meet on polling time of General Election

A decision on whether or not to extend the polling time during the General Election will be taken on June 25, stated the National Election Commission.
The decision will be made at an Elections Commission meeting on the said date, according to the Chairman of the Commission Mahinda Deshapriya.
He mentioned this to the media at Kandy today (21).
When inquired on the charges against the Elections Commission that it is being silent on violation of election rules, Deshapriya said that the Police hold the responsibility of implementing the law, not the Commission.
