A superb bowling performance from Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga and Nuwan Kulasekara secured a 14-run victory over the United Arab Emirates in their Asia Cup T20 match in Dhaka on Thursday.
Malinga took 4-26 and Kulasekara delivered a sublime performance, taking 3-10 in four overs, to restrict the UAE to 115 for nine.
Swapnil Patil top-scored with 37.
Earlier, a half-century for Dinesh Chandimal propped up Sri Lanka as they were limited to 129 for eight, having been asked to bat.
Chandimal and Tilliakaratne DIlshan added 69 for the first wicket, but when the latter departed for 27 the innings fell apart.
Amjad Javed was the pick of the attack with 3-25, while both Mohammad Naveed and Mohammad Shahzad chipped in with a couple of scalps each.
