Pharmacies and essential food item distribution centers in curfew imposed areas are to remain closed for 3 days from tomorrow (October 13, Tuesday), stated Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.
A quarantine curfew is imposed in 18 police division in Gampaha District and Divulapitiya, Ja-Ela, Kandana, and Seeduwa police division until further divisions.
Essential item outlets including Sathosa outlets, pharmacies, supermarkets, and fish markets in the aforementioned areas were, previously, permitted to remain open until 8 pm.
Residents in those areas were allowed to purchase their essential items from the nearest outlet while following health safety guidelines.
However, these outlets are to remain closed until Thursday (October 15), as per the new notice.
