Five arrested with 111 kg of Kerala cannabis

Sri Lanka Navy has apprehended five individuals with a large haul of Kerala Cannabis on the seas off Madagal in Jaffna.
They have been taken into custody in a joint operation of the Sri Lanka Navy and the Coast Guard.
A total of 111 kilograms of Kerala Cannabis that were being smuggled into the country from India has been recovered in the mission.
The value of the recovered cannabis is estimated to be Rs 10 million, stated Sri Lanka Navy.
Investigations are underway to determine whether the arrested suspects are linked to the drug trafficking operation.
The stock of cannabis has been handed over to the police after being disinfected.
Further investigations on the matter are carried out by the Sri Lanka Navy.
