Indictment handed down in killing of two monks at Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya

The Colombo High Court today handed down indictments against the suspect accused over the murders of two Buddhist monks at the Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya in 2012.
The indictments filed by the Attorney General was handed down before High Court Judge Damith Thotawatta against the defendant named in the case, N.A. Suresh Chanaka, who is currently out on bail.
He had been indicted under Section 296 of the Penal Code, over the murders of Ven. Pitigala Jinasiri thera (81) and Ven. Boralesgamuwe Gunaratne (61) at the Kotte Raja Maha Viharaya on March 20, 2012, with the aid of the now deceased Pathiraja Harsha Manju Sri Manikeerthi.
