
The parliament set to convene for just two hours today (November 03), as the Committee on Parliament Business decided to limit this week’s sittings to one day due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation.
Accordingly, today’s parliamentary sitting will proceed from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.
The regulations to the Medical Ordinance submitted by the Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi are expected to be taken up for debate today.
The Committee on Parliament Business has also decided not to allocate time for the Questions for Oral Answers.
The Parliament’s Department of Communications only the Members of Parliament, invited officials and staff members will be allowed to enter the Parliament complex.
It was further decided not to allow media persons to cover today’s parliamentary sitting.
The legislators are scheduled to meet again on the 12th November at 10.00 am.
