Persons without face masks arrested – Ajith Rohana

A total of 75 individuals have been arrested so far for not wearing face masks in public and non-compliance to social distance regulations, stated the Police Media Spokesperson.

 

As per the gazette notification issued on October 15, it is mandatory to wear face masks and maintain social distance in public spaces.

 

Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana mentioned this joining the TV Derana breakfast show ‘Derana Aruna’ this morning (04).

 

Meanwhile, 220 persons have been arrested in the Western Province yesterday (03) for violating the curfew, police said.

 

Since October 4, a total of 2,200 people have been arrested for violating the curfew in several police areas, including the Western Province.

 

Further, 340 vehicles have also been taken into police custody during the relevant period.
