Seven Covid-19 infections have been detected within the Welikada Prison premises, says the Commissioner General of Prisons Thushara Upuldeniya.
Accordingly, 04 female inmates, 02 male inmates and a prison officer have tested positive for the virus.
They are to be moved to the Welikanda Base Hospital for medical care, Mr. Upuldeniya said further.
