The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health stated that another 595 patients, who had previously tested positive for novel coronavirus, have been discharged from hospital today after recovering and testing negative for the virus.

The new development brings the total number of novel coronavirus recoveries reported in the country to 8,880.

Sri Lanka’s confirmed cases court meanwhile stands at 13,929. The Epidemiology Unit says 5,014 of them are still under medical care.
